What is Scholarship?

scholarship is an award of financial aid for a student to further their education at a private or secondary school, or a private or public post-secondary university, or other academic institution. Merit Based:

The Merit based scholarships can be based on a number of criteria, including performance in a particular school subject  or student’s academic, artistic, athletic or other abilities. The most common merit-based scholarships, awarded directly by a student’s intended college, recognize academic achievement or high scores on standardized tests.

Need Based:

Some private need-based awards are confusingly called scholarships. Need based Scholarship is actually the grants offered to the student based on his/her need (Family Financial factor is taken into consideration.

University Specific Scholarship:

These scholarships are offered by individual universities to highly qualified applicants. These scholarships are given on the basis of academic and personal achievement.
